Hi.

I'm Lon, welcome! I'm a military girl living in a mystical world as a self-care & holistic health junkie. Travel gives me life & you can bet there's a crystal in my pocket & food on my mind.

GOOD: A Wellness Experience

GOOD: A Wellness Experience

Have you ever gone out on a limb. . . a very thin, could probably break at any moment, limb? One where you feel like you’re all by yourself, not real sure of what you’re doing there? Not the greatest feeling in the world right?

But have you gone out on that very same, seems like it’s going to snap right in half any second, limb with a group of incredibly supportive girlfriends cheering you on? Totally different experience right?

In February 2018 I traveled across the country with a very close friend of mine to attend GOOD Fest, a wellness festival in downtown L.A. It was the experience of a lifetime and I was so honored to be surrounded by hundreds of other ladies who were like-minded in their wellness and spiritual journeys. I learned so much about myself and was thrilled to have the opportunity to share that experience with such a dear friend.

While I was home for the holidays I realized the GOOD Fest was coming to Charleston in January and I reached out to a few other girlfriends to see if they’d want to join me for what was sure to be another moving experience. Sadly, everyone’s schedules were full and I was left with the decision to either attend by myself or not go at all. It can be so uncomfortable attending things like this on your own (at least for me anyhow), without a wing-woman to chat with or share the moments with. If I’m being completely honest, I’m not much of a social butterfly, so situations like these where I am forced to interact with a bunch of people I don’t know on my own make me very uneasy. I was so torn though because I knew this GOOD Fest would be such an amazing experience and truthfully when it came down to it, my desire for a day filled with self-care and the opportunity to grow spiritually beat out my feelings of unease. . . don’t get me wrong though, I was still not looking forward to going by myself all that much.

As you may have guessed it, I am so, so, soooooo glad I put on my big girl pants and went for it regardless of the fact that I had to go solo. Whether you’re able to go with friends or you’re like me and you find yourself attending alone, I can’t recommend finding a GOOD Fest near you enough!

I know, I know enough about my introverted tendencies and more about the GOOD Fest itself right? Founded by three girlfriends, Kate Van Horn, Jess Baumgardner and Jen Clark, the GOOD Fest provides “a comfortable environment to unite, learn from each other, and thrive” (goodfest.com). The ladies have “created a space where a question about hormones is not awkward, but may be toasted with a glass of wine; where pizza can be as welcome as kale. For a night or a lifetime, wellness is not just livable, but deliciously real” (goodfest.com).

Their mission and the bottom line of their company can be gathered from their Instagram bio! The GOOD Fest serves us the BEST wellness experience through “events created to ignite your passion for wellness and inspire you to achieve your GOOD life.”

Jess, Jen and Kate are three of the most inspiring women I know, who pour their hearts into providing safe space for women to come together, share and grow as individuals and as a collective.

The GOOD Fest brings together guest speakers from a variety of backgrounds who teach, practice and share their passions with GOOD Fest attendees, which is the highlight of each festival, in my opinion. In addition to the guest speakers who share on anything from healthy eating to overcoming trauma, there is a market place specially curated for each festival, which offers goodies to help you navigate whatever phase of your wellness and spiritual journey you might be in.

Amazing right! Always, always have the best experience when attending and of the GOOD events and truly, I couldn’t recommend you finding time to attend enough.

Lucky for everyone in the Philly area, there’s a GOOD Fest on 22 September! Check out their website for more details and do yourself a huge favor. . . GO!

Light, Love and the Highest Vibrations,

Lon
